Colin Stokes
Originally from Bournemouth, Colin was a miner in Scotland before moving to Deal to work as a deputy in Betteshanger Colliery outside Deal. He was there for the strikes in the 1980s before being made redundant when the Kent pits closed. He now runs a b&b in Deal and is an accomplished cellist.

Trevor Varndell of AV Studios
Trevor speaks about his music rehearsal studios on the South East coast. Only people who know where they are are allowed to hire them, like a rock'n'roll batcave.
Marc Stevenson of Stevenson Brothers
Twin Brothers Marc & Tony Stevenson have been making rocking horses for 33 years in the Kent village of Bethersden. Horses are made in three sizes and bought for adult collectors as well as children. Their makers' high levels of craft and skill makes them heirlooms-to-come as the years pass by. The brothers specialise in one-off designs, often copying a favourite real horse and using real tail hair from the animal, which is a great way to commemorate a well loved equine friend. The Stevenson Brothers' website is here.
